A little bit about us...
Farmergy was established in 2006 by Mr Owen Yeatman to premier the UKs first crop to biogas plant in 2007 at his home farm in Dorset, utilising maize grass silage along with whole crop silage as the feedstock.
ROCS (Renewable Obligation Certificate Scheme) was the commissioning and remuneration route, as well as the project being awarded a capital grant under the Bio Energy Capital Grant Scheme.
The aim of this initial plant was not only to gain experience of digesting crops under UK climatic conditions, but to also act as a live shop window to showcase crop powered biogas in the UK as a viable and environmentally sustainable diversification for the farming sector.
The company through its experience took on the role as UK sales agent for its technology supplier Biogas Nord and in 2008 Wiefferink BV joined the team to present its selection of unique storage solutions to the UK.
Since those early days Farmergy has teamed up with several of the leading biogas developers within the UK working on both CHP and Bio Methane plants, the aim being improvement of physical and financial performance of those plants.
Farmergy's goal is to locate, trial and market innovative products that maximise new and existing biogas plant potential and increase the selection of feedstocks available to the plant operators.
